In short
You can delete your account at any time, from the app, without having to give a reason.
If you have uninstalled the app, write to us: we carry out the deletion within thirty days.
Your listings, your messages and your personal data disappear. Only the diverted volumes remain, anonymously, in the municipal statistics.
1. From the app
Open the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and tap "Delete my account".
You are asked to confirm. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: we cannot restore a deleted account.
If any objects are under reservation, the people concerned are notified and the listings are withdrawn.
2. If you have uninstalled the app
Write to us using the contact form on the website, at kadoz.app/contact, stating the email address associated with your account.
We reply from that same address to confirm your identity, then proceed with the deletion. The maximum period is thirty days, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
That period is a maximum, not a habit: we handle these requests as soon as we receive them.
3. What is erased
Your account and your sign-in credentials.
Your username, your profile photograph, your email address, your telephone number if you had given one, and your default address if you had saved one.
Your current listings, with their photographs and descriptions.
Your conversations and the messages you wrote.
The exact addresses you had entered for your objects.
Your notification tokens, which puts an end to any sending.
4. What remains, and why
The volumes diverted from the skip remain counted in the municipal statistics, with no link to you. Those figures serve to measure the effect of the service on a municipality's waste; attaching them to a person would make no sense, and we do not do it.
The messages you sent to someone else remain in that person's conversation, just as a letter received stays with its addressee. Your name appears there as "Deleted user".
If a report concerning you gave rise to a moderation decision, the record of that decision is kept for as long as is necessary to defend our rights and those of others.
Any accounting or legal retention obligations apply, but since Kadoz is free and involves no transaction, in practice they concern no personal data.
5. Your other rights
Deleting your account is not the only option. You may request a copy of your data, have inaccurate information corrected, or object to a processing operation.
Those requests go through the same address, and the same period applies.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to the Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels.
